The death of classical music, strangely enough, seems to have been declared for decades. Yet classical music today is alive and hip. It can be found on many iPod where Bach joins ranks with Miles Davis, and Mozart with Madonna. Classical, contemporary, jazz, and world music peacefully coexist and are often presented together in many programs of renowned festivals and cultural centres.
Still, the owners of those iPods seem to have a hard time finding their way to concerts. And that has more to do with presentation than with the music itself. It is especially the stuffy atmosphere that keeps people away from concert halls. We need new forms of presentation to breathe new life into the genre. The starting point exactly for our Club Classic. Classical music is a large part of our program. Any music lover will surely find something to their taste here. All inclusive, not exclusive.
Furthermore, we also introduce you to some great contemporary music. Resounding City, the wonderful world of sound art, completes our festival. In this most ecological issue ever, it presents sound artists who have mainly found inspiration in nature.
We are looking forward to welcoming you at this edition with a particularly strong programme that includes projects that are unique both for the region and the Eurometropolis.
